St. Paul’s is sending two mission teams to Zambia to the orphanage where parishioner Jaime Bugaski is serving as interim director. You can read Jaime’s blog to learn more about her experiences.

An important part of this trip will be building community among our mission teams through prayer, Bible Study, learning about Zambia and fellowship. The more time that we spend with one another now, the better prepared we will be to live and work as a community in Zambia. That being said, we will be gathering regularly as a large Zambia Team (everyone who is going) and as smaller mission teams (the March/April team and the July team).

During their time in Zambia, each mission team will have the opportunity to experience what God is doing in at the orphanage and in the surrounding community. We will be staying in a guest house at the Sons of Thunder compound where the orphanage, clinic, Bible college and agricultural school are housed. We will engage in the ministry there in a variety of ways. The trips will also include a daytrip to the Chobe game park in Botswana and a visit to Victoria Falls.

Upcoming Deadlines

An initial deposit of $300 per person will be needed secure your place on the trip. This deposit is due Nov. 15 for the Mar./Apr. trip and Dec. 15 for the July trip. Checks can be made out to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with “Zambia trip” written in the memo line. If you are concerned about getting the $300 together by the deadline, please speak with Pastor Lovell. Once the plane tickets are purchased (mid-Nov. for Mar./Apr. and mid-Dec. for July) they are non refundable and non transferable so all travelers will need to purchase travel insurance immediately.
