Brr’s the word in Jo-burg
Filed Under News by Pastor Meredith
(July 4) Brr’s the word here in Johannesburg this morning! It’s wintertime in the southern hemisphere and we can certainly feel it. Many of us turned on the heat in the hotel rooms last night, and it was in the low 60s when we got off of the plane last night. It’s quite a change from hot, humid and muggy Washington, D.C., in July.
This morning we’ll head back to the airport and board our flight to Livingstone. It’s about a 2 ½ hour-flight north. Jaime, our missionary on the ground, will be there at the airport to meet us, and we’ll load our copious amounts of luggage (that hopefully will arrive at the same time we do) onto the trucks and head about 25 kilometers north of the city to the Sons of Thunder Farm. You can check us out on Google Maps by following the North-South road north from the city. The Sons of Thunder Farm is the only paved road off the main road for miles.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers, especially as we head into another day of travel. Prayers for arriving luggage would also be appreciated as we would like to make sure that all of those donations collected actually make it to the orphanage.
Don’t worry if it takes a little while to hear from us once we’ve reached the Farm. Communication is very limited, and it might take several hours before we find a form of communication that can send word back to you.
