Last summer’s program was a huge success and this year’s is shaping up to be lots of fun. The Social Ministry needs your help to make it happen. If you are available to lead one of the projects, please contact Rebecca Highsmith at highsmithr@starpower.net for more information.

Fair Trade Sunday

Filed Under Events, News, Social Ministry by Pastor Meredith

Assist Third World coffee producers by purchasing Fair Trade Coffee and Hot Cocoa on June 22 between services and after the 11am worship service. Fair Trade products–sponsored by Lutheran World Relief–are produced under principles that respect the
environment, assist workers, and allow small producers to flourish. This will be the last coffee sale until Fall, so stock up for the summer.

On Saturday, April 26th, St. Paul’s will be participating in Hands on DC, a program that works to improve the school environments of DC public Schools. We already have a number of people who have registered. If you are interested in joining us, please e-mail Brian Halma at mhpf21@yahoo.com, so we know to look for you.

We will either be mulching (rain or shine) or painting, so no special skills are required. Also, all materials will be provided on site. Children are welcome, but the organizers ask that there be at least one adult for every 2 children.

We have been assigned to Hart MHS, located at 601 Mississippi Ave SE , Washington, DC 20032.

If you would like to car pool from the church, please meet at the church parking lot at 8 am. Please note that the nearest metro to the school is 1.6 miles, so if you are looking to metro, it probably makes sense to join us at church first. If you would like to go directly to the site, please 1) notify me by e-mail at mhpf21@yahoo.com (so we aren’t waiting for you at church); and 2) be at the site no later than 8:45 am.
