Welcome to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Washington D.C.
What a privilege it is to be in our nation’s capital, and to serve the good and faithful people of St. Paul’s Church. On October 19th, I celebrated my thirtieth year as pastor of St. Paul’s, and I continue to be amazed as to the many wonderful things God continues to do for our congregation and for the community in which we live and work. I was born and raised on Staten Island, N.Y. and served a parish in Brooklyn for nine years. I’m still a Yankees and Giants fan (sorry Nats and Skins fans), and I enjoy sports and warm summer days at Deep Creek Lake. I am married to Barbara (pictured below with our Vicar, Ellen Lundie), and we have one adult son.
St. Paul’s is a growing “Reconciling in Christ” congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We are excited about our worship and music ministry, our education and youth ministry, and our social ministry, which includes a shelter in the church for the homeless, a food pantry for the hungry of Washington, and a variety of mission trips both here and abroad.
May God continue to bless you and strengthen you with his grace.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. Thomas A. Omholt, Pastor
